Weekly Trade review. Last week was a short week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. I actually didn't trade much that week cause my family flew in from the west coast to visit. So made it difficult for me to sit in front of the computer watching the market.
I did take a trade on pretty clean chart of $CHS earning winner reaction. It was on my radar from the night before because it put in some solid volume on the 25th. I new it will release ER in the AM, it came out with report at 8:30ish but zero reaction during p/m, the results of the ER wasn't anything to wow about, company was still losing money. At the open after a couple minutes it popped all the way through its b/o zone, way to fast for me to react, so I let it run to its HOD of $4.95. Impressive I know. The pull back down past 4.50, I wanted to see if it will test the b/o zone. notice it dipped slighly below 4.50 than some high volume came in. I took my initial position there at 4.47, willing to add much more if it went closer to 4.25. but it actually consolidated some more. Kept trending higher all day.
Since my initial size was so small I was able to leave it alot and went on with my day. I did have an alert incase it dipped down beyond a certain level. So in case it panic I can get to my computer to exit. Well when I came back closer to late day, it had a nice dip down towards its past support zone, so I added into that dip, and ol and behold it bounce right off that support. Feels good when you can read proper technicals. Now I really want to see it retest HOD into the close. It never really did, but since my average was pretty good, I was willing to swing it O/N for a chance for a gap up.
Following day, had analysis upgrade news and a small gap up. After a few minutes of the open and very little volume, I exited for a mini gain on my trade. Which I am glad as it did dip beyond my risk zone, but bounce back towards its analysis price projections. All in all, not a bad trade. Making .80/sh on my trade. Pretty happy!!!
Family still in town, will try to stay consistent with watching the mkt at the open and at the close.
