This will be a continuous daily update for the near future. I've decided to do a personal challenge with starting out with $100. Trading mainly options for the last 5 years I've gone from being profitable, to blowing up accounts to building them back to blowing them up. Several reasons for these swings over the last 5 years of trading. The biggest it risk management and not cutting losses and not respecting or setting a good trading plan. Options can have huge upside on a daily basis of wins from 50% up to 1000% regularly... also have losses of 100% daily when not managed or respected. I've traded profits instead of process more than I care to admit.
This challenge is to tighten everything up and focus on the process. Respecting a basic plan, and strategy. I've cashed out the majority of profits over the last couple years just to recoup some of my significant losses and investments in my 1st 3-4 years of trading so my trading account right now is literally $100 to reduce temptation of getting greedy and blowing this challenge off and going back to bad habits.
The goal is simple enough. We're taught daily to cut losses quickly. This is my biggest nemesis and will be addressed the most. I feel I would be winning in the high 80% range if I learn to let go when it starts to reject a trade I'm in. I am now finding I choose the right trade and direction just not managing expectations.
The rule of 5... reminding myself that I don't need the homerun on every trade. Winning is winning. It could be a solid profit or cutting losses when its not doing what I anticipate it to do... both are wins.
Simple 2/1 risk management with 3/1 or more depending on if it's an A or B setup. On options it's tight and can be over in 30 seconds especially with only $100. $100 trade... risking 25% to make 50% it's going to take sniper trading and ice in my veins to cut losses as it could happen right after I enter.
Respecting my S/R levels and process.
This will make my process better and more refined, and hopefully break the bad habits I have keeping me from truly breaking out.
If I can't manage a small account, I'll never manage a large account.
Love it! I'll be watching!
