Finally, in December 2020 I decided to become a Challenge Student, a few years back I almost did it, but family and social pressure stopped me from doing it. After years of hearing what others had to say and let that play a part in my decisions, I decided to part ways with them and go with it, learn the ropes of trading, and dedicate myself to it, full time. I took me a 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic, the closing of my family restaurant business and failing at “looking for a job” to realize that I was not working on the path I wanted to take, but someone else’s. Well, screw that.
Here I am. After reviewing around 200 of Tim’s videos on YouTube I finally decided to get into the Challenge. Right now, I am studying every day 4 to 8 hours plus trading hours, taking my time to understand what I am reading, review trading videos, watch stocks behaviors and confirm my recently acquired knowledge, and little by little build my own strategies and test them Paper Trading. A total of 8 to 10 hours a day of dedication and, having lots of fun.
After a month I finally decided to get into real trading with a live account and I am using this blogpost to record some of my journey’s decisions, occurrences, and stories.
HERE, my starting strategy.
My account opening balance is $2,000.00
My initial strategy is to:
· Trade listed stocks between $1 and $5
· Positions of 10% of account total
· Top 3 to 5 trades a day (no vengeance trading)
· With Catalyst and history
· Pre-Market / Morning spikers / Dip Buys
· Also, Wolf’s Cap & Crap strategy concept (planning on getting into his classes next year)
· Pre-Market with good volume (more than 1mil, preferable 2x float), speed, and depth
· +30% price increase pre-market
· Trading hours from 8am to 10am. Hours I have been more effective doing paper trading
· Expecting gains of 5% - 10% in 3 – 7min period
· Cutting loses quickly between -1% - 1% (I do not consider 1% a gain but a loss)
· I will publish all my trades, good and bad
Do not wish me luck, I do not believe in luck for this type of enterprises, I strongly believe that we make our own paths with hard work, dedication, and passion. Luck is for those that believe in miracles.
A week after sending this email, I am just writing here my first week results. Lots to learn on a personal level. My insecurities and FOMO are taking the best of me and I am violating my own rules consistently which is the opposite of being consistent doing a good job. So far, I am able to ID good Dip-Buy setups on listed stocks, but I am missing the mark. So far the balance is ZERO, so I lost everything I made so far. Doesn't sound that bad, but it is until I learn to don't let my emotions dict
