Person who chases two rabbits catches neither. – Confucius
I think that quote speaks volume to our situation as traders. These past few months have been tough on me. I keep beating myself up for missing so much when it’s an easy fix. I have been sticking to the my rule of stalking the tickers like it’s my hunt. If I can get the hunt I can eat and if I can make the trade get in and out without hesitation and as much perfection as I can then I too can eat.
Focus, patience and preparation have all been things I have been doing the past few days and I have already seen a good improvement. It’s hard to change habits, but I still do have a stutter and if I can become a fluent speaker then I can do anything with enough will power and time. Finding out what is the cause of the problems is a critical thing. Without that then you can’t set daily goals to defeat it.
Trading takes a lot of work and a lot of time. I look at it as a rice paddy and I’m the farmer. If I take care of it enough with as much perfection and time as I can then eventually I will see the rewards come back to me 10 -100x. Don’t put yourself down because others are doing better than you. I use that as a goal. If I see someone make $1,000 on a blah trade then I say that I can make $2,000 and do it better!
Someone else might understand it better than you, someone else might have more courage/ balls then you and or they might have been doing it for longer than you. Whatever the reason maybe there is only one way to look at it. You aren't them! You are you and you can’t compare yourself to them. Only look at yourself and work on yourself as a trader and start kicking ass!
I will be posting every single Wednesday for now on. Also my question to you my friends is this. What was the most recent/ current challenging thing you have had to face in trading?
