Hey guys bored on a Saturday so I figured I would do a write up on my trading this week so I can assess my trading and adjust my strategy going forward. This week overall proved to be a profitable week realizing gains of 2.5k, but I would overall say that my trading sucked.
Lets start out with my over the weekend trade of $ISNS. Easily my best trade to date making 55% on my money and my biggest profit of $4279. I went long on Friday after-hours on the spike after the stock reported good earnings. Held 2000 shares from 3.90 and the stock boomed from there finishing the after-hours session at 4.70. Monday morning $ISNS reached $5 early in the premarket and eventually peaked at 6.70 premarket. I took profits on my 2000 shares, 1k at 6.20, the other thousand at the market open on the failed spike at 5.90. I am very proud of this trade and love the low float earnings set up.
Now I want to talk about the end of this week, and how I think my big Monday win kind of went to my head a bit. So on Wednesday I was up 5.5k on the week already and almost seemed like I was itching for another homerun trade. Rather than letting setups come to me I was forcing trades, over trading, and sizing too big on my positions. This resulted in a bunch of dumb losses that I know I shouldn't be taking. I cut losses quickly most of the day but finished the day -$258, trading 6 tickers and being red on 5 of them.
Thursday I took another two losses premarket, on both my overnight of $KURA (which I chased with size thinking it was another $ISNS), and $LEDS chasing the run at the open. Overall I was down another $361 bucks until I nailed my $MPET short towards the close to finish green on the day.
Friday is when I really buried myself. I was sized in too big on $URRE, and then chased $EBIO premarket before the open. Two big losses, and another big loss later on in the day that resulted of a loss of 2.5k on the day.
So overall I did finish the week up $2500 bucks which is an awesome feeling, but overall I should have made much more. I partially blame this on me being at a new job which essentially forces me to make all of my trades from my cell phone, so realistically I am not optimized to be trading (but I can't help it). Next week I am going to narrow my focus and only play the best possible setups. See you guys in the chatroom, or on twitter @GhostTrades, where I post a bit more.
good stuff bro
