Im two weeks into the challenge. I have been trading for about 2 months and its just starting to click, but other parts of my life are starting to click as well. I thought about this for a while and I have come to a conclusion. The strategies that Tim teaches us for trading, define your direction, Cut your losses quick, no expectations, let it come to you, this is a marathon not a sprint, humble yourself, give to others when you get the chance etc. These ideas and many more are drilled and cemented into my brain every day by studying and following with purpose and intensity. So I asked myself... why has my life gotten better and I have become happier from sitting at my computer trading? I have realized that all of these ideas have carried over into my thoughts about life in general. I have realized that staying in bad relationships is like holding onto a long that is dropping and hoping it bounces back, when you expect things in life you are always disapointed , if you chase things they only get farther away, enjoying the journey and not "sprinting" all the time, arrogance makes you an easy target because you take dumb risks with no plan, and lastly once you make it to where you are going the next step is to give back. I have already noticed my attitude changing in this short time towards trading and also towards life outside of trading. It really is strange how everything is relative...... making good trades only comes when you do certain things consistently, as living a good and happy life only comes when you do many of the same things consistently, weird.
The long and short. Quick and dirty summary is simple : the hardest part of trading is YOU... If you are in control if your own actions, thoughts, and responsibilities, you will be successful in trading .... If you are disorganized, aloof, and dumbfounded.. Your trading will be also .. Focus on being the best you can be and forget the rest
