Some of the wierdest days of my life right now...
So, I recently quit my job to trade full time. It was a huge risk on my part, but I saw myself going down the 9-5 path (more like the 5am-5pm path for me) making a solid six figure salary with a good benefits package. I can't do it.....I can't be 50 something asking "what if?". So, I quit my job, with some $BTC cashout around 17k(lucky timing) and here I am. Goodbye Nuclear Energy Industry(soul sucking/safe) and hello real risk/challenge.
I've been trading for 6 or so years. Mostly picking good stocks that have potential, holding and selling for swings and such. Playing options occasionally and doing well. For the last year I held $MGTI and $BTC making great money...I understand the market, but I am not good with timing or understanding entry points. I'm not a seasoned trader at all!
While some of my peers look at me as "the stock market guy" who quit his job young, it just goes to show how ill-informed most people are. In reality I'm a novice at best who was able to leave his career with some safety net do mostly to chance.
I'm here at my computer about 12 yours a day looking at stocks with good price action not knowing what the hell to do with them haha! I have a 100k in my Etrade account like a loaded gun right now.
For once I have no mandated direction...I'm just reading charts, watching training videos, reading and wondering "WTF am I doing?? Am I even thinking on the right track?"....My first trade here will be tomorrow and braced for whatever comes after.
I'm happy about posting all my trades here, exposing my failures and learning like crazy. I'm very thankful to Tim Sykes for having this community. Please give me any feedback you can. I can't wait to get to know some of you and your stories/dreams/struggles/why you are here.
Thanks for reading,
Craig
that allow me to make a few grand without risking over a grand.....and I'm trading for a living so its hard to just say "wait for the good plays" and "don't trade everyday".
Good luck =D
I have found that trading only the stocks with big volume and volitility is best. When the bollanger bands go vertical, big volume comes in and price is pushing above the 9 EMA, trading is fun. Good book- The Trading Book by Anne-Marie Baiynd a pro tading coach. I have been struggling with poor entries, so I am playing only the best setups.
