this was my 2nd trade in my trading career. I did not even look at the chart when i bought it and it was risky, but a good trade. turns out i bought on the perfect dip right at support and sold at the top right at the resistance.
shorted the stock that was hitting the bid for a few minutes. i hit the bid as well and the ball rolled down
played the bounce for the first time and did not actually realize that that is what happened. i simply traded based off of L2 and it worked out. good trade. wanted to short once i sold but no shares.
stock went up to consolidate. i thought it was going to keep running, so i bought. it started to go down and i quickly got out. it was just a morning spike that was supposed to pull back.
purchased at 26, stock was failing to get past resistance, so I sold at 25, and sure trader showed message "timeout" i assumed the order did not go through and sold again, only to realize that both orders have gone through and the stock surged and I am now holding a losing position. LESSON: always check status of the order and current positions!
this was a good trade that was turned into a losing trade since commissions ate my small gain, because i accidentally placed 100 order instead of 1,000. shame shame shame
