What's your residency status if you don't mind me asking? I'm from the UK, but moved to US (am now a Perm. Resident). You should be issued a Social Security number (SSN) unless you are a minor (my kids have ITINs) or perhaps a student...(don't know about that one since it wasn't the path that I took).
