The reasons I wanted to give trading a try...

I will start off by saying that I grew up with nothing. I was removed from my mom at the age of 2 due to her loving drugs more then her children. Luckily my grandparents were there to take my younger brother and I in. We didn't have much of anything growing up. I mean, when we needed new clothes for school we made a trip down to the fabric store and picked out our favorite fabric patterns for my grandmother to make us some new shorts or a new shirt. We grew up on Welfare and it was ok because life isn't about money.

My grandparents were old school southern family that taught me and my brother that money isn't as important as hard work and being courteous to everyone, until they prove themselves as a bad person. We got up in the morning, went to school, came home and chopped firewood. it was all about showing a young man that you need to work hard for what you want in life. 

When I was young I started getting involved into Soccer and the Boy Scouts. I was a pretty good soccer player and played for the youth league and started playing for high school also. At times I would get done with school practice, drive 10 mins away, have another practice for youth league then go to a Boy Scout meeting once a week. It all payed off because after 18 years of dedication I was able to become the first Eagle Scout in our small county.

Once I got old enough I told myself that I would never go back onto state funding! I will work my ass off to succeed in life. As a Junior in high school I was able to get a summer job at a local lake working for the US Army Corps of Engineers. After graduating high school and becoming an Eagle Scout, the USACE asked me if I would like a full time job. At that time I was making $9.75 an hour and I worked my way to $11.85 and hour and being the highest paid person in my family. It may not sound like much but they never chose to work for success like I did. 

After 11 years with the USACE I decided I wanted more and started looking into the states largest power company PG&E. After 3 weeks after applying, I got a call for a position as a grunt (which is really the bottom guy in the company). I spent a year digging holes, doing what I was told and never complained. I was asked if I would be interested in becoming an Apprentice Lineman. I jumped on the opportunity even though I have never climbed a pole and had no idea if I could overcome being 45 feet or more in the air on a pole for hours after hours. I use to stay after work climbing up and down poles in the yard so I could be the best at my job. After 3 1/2 years I finally topped out and became a Journeyman Lineman. I was offered $53.07 an hour and just about fell over when the first check showed up. I spent countless hours at work, volunteered for every job that the company asked for. I traveled all over California doing job after job. Worked Storm damage in howling wind, sideways rain and ass deep snow. Not once did I ever complain about what I was tasked with. Two years ago, the company was looking for a new supervisor to replace and I jumped at the opportunity. Luckily I got the position and have been doing it ever since.

I look back on my life and where I came from. A kid standing in a fabric store picking out my favorite patterns to now making $135,500 a year and with overtime grossed $198,000 last year. Not in a million years would I have ever believed I would be where I am now.

You are probably thinking why would I start trading with making the money that I do? Well its not really about what kind of money can I make. Its more of what can I do to make sure that my kids will never have to go through what I had to. Not that I won't make them work their asses off but I don't ever want them to have to pick out their favorite fabrics.

In life I have studied to be the best I could at everything I do and get interested in. I did it in Boy Scouts, I did it in my career. I wanted to learn photography so I sat down and read all the books I could and watched all the videos I could. Now I am taking baby photos, senior pictures and weddings for family and friends that cant afford professionals and doing it for free.

One night about three weeks ago while watching videos about photography I stumbled on a video of Tim and I was hooked. I joined this site and slowly started buying his videos. I started an account with $6000 and started trading. Within a week I had the account down to $3000. So I buckled down and really started paying attention and watched the videos I bought again a week ago. Within the last week I have gone up roughly $1500 and only 2 small losses totaling $80.

Now I know that there is a lot of people out there that hasn't been as blessed as me, with a career like me but I accepted the challenge to learn trading. I have learned over the years that if you really want something in your life you have to believe and work hard to make yourself better. NOBODY is going to do it for you! I look forward to learning as much as I can from everyone on this page and if I make a lot of money with it then awesome. If not then I will work even harder to succeed to the best of my ability and NEVER complain when things don't go my way. If you can't fall in love with something then you will never dedicate yourself to succeed.
