I would think every trading company like e-trade would want its clients to have the ability to learn using the actual platform they are going to be trading with using play money, before getting started using real money, but that does not seem to be the case. I have no experience trading and need to find a good FREE platform that allows me to learn to use it, but without the risk of losing money. I understand this is called paper-trading. I opened a e-trade pro account, but they do not have anything that allows you to actually learn to trade on E-trade Pro. I know some sites exist that actually have a free platform and allow paper-trades, but don't know which one(s) would be best to help me get ready to use my e-trade pro account when I am ready. So ideally I need advise on where to go and download a good platform, that is free, and allows someone to learn trading without risk of losing money/paper-trading, and ideally be similar to the e-trade pro accounts platform. Any advise?
TDAmeritrade offer papertrading and so does Interactive brokers. TDs data is lagged but with IB you can paper trade with non lagged data as long as your account is approved and funded.
ThinkorSwim platform through TDAmeritrade. Just fund a small live account and get free live streaming data.
Thank you.
