Here is a list of the most popular brokers out there and some of my favorite brokers ive used in the recent years, 

TDAmeritrade - TDA is a pretty well knows discount brokers. I have used them in the past. Didnt like them much because i didnt find Shorts on lower price stocks. If your going to me mostly going long Then this is good enough for you. They have a very powerful platform called thinkorswim (TOS). TOS offers alot of powerful tools and Indicator and you can use custom indicators if you want. TDA charges $9.99/Trade for Unlimited amount of shares which is pretty nice. TDA also offers many account types which may be what your also looking for. Personally, I don't use TDA anymore I only use there TOS platform for charts occasionally.Have a Mobile App

CenterPoint - Amazing Brokers Offer alot of different Platforms like Das and Sterling,. If you have a Small Account this broker wont work for you but once you reach the minimum account value I bet you'll fell in love with this broker. IF you want more information on this broker go to: Centerpoint

SureTrader - Amazing broker if you have a small account. Only need $500 to open an account. SureTrader is an Offshore broker which means you can avoid the PDT RULE which is the most annoying thing for Day Traders. They do charge $4.95/Trade up to 1000 Shares.  After 1000 Shares they do charge $0.00495/Share. You can call them up and ask if they can raise the share limit to trade on the per trade rate. This is one of my favorite brokers out there, There Mobile App is Amazing also. There are maybe some videos on youtube of there app, you going to have to search around for it. 

SpeedTrader - SpeedTrader is an Awesome Broker also becuase its owned by the same people as SureTrader. Offers some really nice things that suretrader doesnt but you CAN NOT AVOID THE PDT RULE with this Broker!
