Dont worry Timmy we nailed it in chat right after you sold :)
I cut losses all the time but just started recently. I did have the intelligent mindset, but now I'm doing much better after year 2. Thanks Tim
I would love to cut loss quickly, but get traumatized and ended up cutting loss late.
cut losses intelligently. tough call tho. still new so lean to cutting quickly....LOTS of nuances/lessons!
Thanksss so many lessons on this. I prefer cut losses quickly because I'm at the beginning of my journey and also because I had 2 big losses (can't verify them now because of broker maintenance issues), not study enough to cut losses intelligently.
Thank you, Tim! I cut losses quickly right now, working toward intelligently.
IMO I think that if a stock is blatantly not doing what I want it to do I will cut losses quick. But if it shows good signs of strength, price action, or support then I look to cut losses intelligently to give the set-up time to playout.
I will cut losses quickly because I’m still a beginner, when I have enough experience to recognize the patterns very well, I can be more aggressive in cutting losses intelligently. Thanks for the lesson. I watched both tickers while you take your positions.
Cut loss quickly....most of the time.
I will study and cut losses quickly. Just watched $PTI ... What a price action, WOOOOW
Thanks Tim, interesting trade with SSI. It has its own unique personality I have watched which you played perfectly. This was not a knee jerk trade, but one which you played intelligently. Thanks for teaching the difference.
Thank you Tim. Great lesson just keep studying and it will pay off allowing you to cut losses at the correct rate.
Thanks Tim, until I have 20 years under my belt or enough experience I'll stick to your #1 rule and cut losses quickly.
Cutting losses quickly at this stage of my journey is best. I have added to a trade with benefits in the past and also lost more by holding too long. If a stock doesn't prove itself in 10 minutes, it probably will not pan out well. However, as I learn, I may bend this rule.
Thanks Tim. Usually try cut losses intelligently, but sometimes cut quickly knowing I can get back in.
I cut losses quickly..not winning enough yet to take big chances when I'm not sure enough of my positions yet, although I do bend the rules a bit and add to a position on occasion
cut losses quickly and intelligently, great lessons Tim.
I want to be strict and cut losses quickly
Thank you Tim, very cool!
Quickly or intelligently? dangerous ground, holding out works just often and big enough to get you ambushed. Thanks Tim
Not even a week in still trying to navigate though all the emails and links they lead too. But getting the #1 rule down
I seem to have a mix of cutting losses quickly and becoming a foolish bag holder. I'm focussing more on studying right now, making too many rookie mistakes. Thanks again Tim!!
I'm new so i cut losses quickly cuz im scared lol but im learning which is more important than the money.
I like the idea of cutting losses intelligently, the lesson just gave me new understanding of the difference between LMPX and $SSI and why you did what you did.
Thanks Tim. Lesson learned.
I'm still a newbie at all of this, so I cut losses quickly. This has lead to lots of $50 losses, lots of being shaken out of a trade, and lots of frustration. However, my account is still in tack, I haven't blown up and I haven't really lost "big" money on any one trade.
I still need to cut losses early. When I get your experience, then I can be more flexible
Thanks Tim - cutting losses quickly (now) and learn to cut intelligently with more experience - is my goal.
@Tommy_D good discipline!
I'm afraid I lack a sufficient amount of market experience to answer your question of my preference. However studying about cutting losses quickly will get me there eventually.
Still learning nuances.
I think being in tune with the stock you’re playing should dictate to either cut losses quickly or to cut losses intelligently. Thanks Tim! Good lesson here
Right now cut losses quickly till I have more experience
Thanks for sharing Tim, Great educational experience! I'm watching it more times now.
I will cut losses quickly when I start trading again - I'm no where near ready to trade let alone "modify" rules. Still studying!
Trading with a small account, and still learning, I cut losses quickly. Thanks Tim for all the commentary of all your trades!
I am 2 months in so I cut losses quickly. I just don't know enough yet.
I cut losses quickly everytime for now, cuz I have a small account and I am not profitable yet, so prefer to play stress free! Thanks Tim.
I frequently add to lower my cost basis. sometimes it works. sometimes, not so much. trying to cut losses quicker
There are so many nuances! I understand the difference between these 2 and the risk levels associated with them, with LMPX being over extended and $SSI being over sold therefore with less risk. Totally get it. But still, in theory is one thing, in practice, it's so hard. I'm trying really hard every day to play perfectly, meaning, sticking with the process. Very hard to become profitable. I guess years of practice will do it.
Seeing that I am still learning, I prefer to be careful and to cut losses quickly until I am more seasoned.
For now cut losses quickly but with more experience trusting my hypothesis and let the trade play out with a little more patience.
tks Tim Good Stuff...In the challenge 2yrs & still struggle w/cutting losses. So for me its cutting losses QUICKLY and letting your winners run is BIBLE!
I add just because I don’t get charged a day trade from IB if I buy buy sell. I go in half or 1/3 size because I’m not patient as I should be with my entries and add from there.
Always cut losses quickly. Trade scared so that I
Intelligently float can help with the decision as well as how far off it’s highs.
@IDorn gooood, yes it takes time to get it all!
This was a good learning experience
I try to cut losses quickly but do to exit intellengently depending on the trade. Thanks Tim
Meticulously tracking until I find my edge. Cut losses quickly on small positions when testing new patterns or setups
Be safe "cut losses quickly", live to play another day; Thank you Tim!!!!
#FutureMillionaire
I need to just cut losses quickly. I’m not disciplined enough. Try to cut intelligently but usually just gets me in more Shit! I need to be more disciplined!!
I'm not sure I would have added but I think I would have waited and sold around the dh
Video watched. Muchas Gracias.
I don't particularly like adding to a trade, but cutting losses quickly is a mix for me. It depends on the trade.....it depends on the price action. Every trade is different.
Right now I am working on discipline, so I would cut losses quickly. Maybe one day when I have more experience and a better trader intuition, I can double down under the right circumstances! Awesome video today, thanks Tim.
trying to cut intelegently.. cutting quick when entering early on a play I belive will bounce has chipped my acount and left me frustrated for the rest of the day causing revenge trading. learning to stay in trust the play has led to some wins and scratches i entered to early that were losses before..
It's a mix for me, although sometimes I choose wrong. If I really believe in my thesis, I will stick with the stock a little longer instead of cutting losses right away.
I am still learning for sure. TMRC I could've added but cut losses instead. SBES I also cut losses which was a good thing as it kept panicking into the morning after I dip bought... still learning. Sometimes I nail the add or wait through it. Back to studying. great job though! thank you.
I've gotten very good at cutting loses as soon as I realize that the price action is not doing what I wanted. However, I've recently started averaging down on Longs very successfully so I guess that changes the cutting loses quickly equation
I dont trade .... Just studding
Watched! Thanks Tim.
Definitely cutting losses on a tiny float supernova dip buy that fails!!! If it's less volatile maybe give it more time but still most likely to cut losses and move on.
good stuff
Thank you Tim
cut losses quickly, until getting the pulse and trade better
Mix of cutting losses quickly and intelligently. Thanks Tim!!
Great lesson! I have been struggling a bit to cut losses quickly. So, therefore, I should be utilizing that rule to be safe. However, I do see where cutting losses intelligently comes in. I'm just not as good at it. Again, bottom line is that I'm not experienced enough to NOT cut losses quickly. My losses tell me so. I'm learning!!
@ElleDiane gooooood, preparation is key!
Thanks!
I cut losses quickly every time. It has saved my ass plenty of times already. Maybe once I'm more experienced I'll cut losses intelligently but for now always cut losses quickly!
Cutting losses quickly is my goal. Still trying to discover what kind of trader I am to become. My bad habit is holding onto trades way too long.
Awesome! Thanks Tim!
Cutting losses quickly is where I'm at. Thanks.
Thanks Tim!
I'm still at the Rule #1 stage!
I would rather cut losses quickly... you can always re-enter after confirmed bottoming action if you end up getting in too early. Personally, can’t wrap my head around adding to losers.. I think adding to losers can be a slippery slope ESPECIALLY for new traders & small accounts. Stay safe and stick to rule #1 always!
I haven't started trading yet still studying, but if I were I would probably cut losses quickly at the beginning
We are still learning so we cut losses quickly ! Looking forward to learning to cut losses intelligently ~ Thanks Tim
I'm still a newbie and cut losses quickly. Learning the lesson to have patience before cutting. One supernova I identified and one solid news catalyst I cut quickly but watched them all day as they went higher. Picture perfect plays i didn't understand. I'm studying, research the lessons, taking notes.
still cutting losses as fast as possible
Thanks Tim!
cut losses quickly damn you!
@Taco_Tuesdays awesome, do what works best for you!
I'm always told that 90% of traders lose because they dont cut losses quickly. Because of that, I'm under the impression that you should ALWAYS cut losses quickly. I'm still learning.
Video watched. Muchas Gracias.
Nice job, thanks for the insights.
Its hard for me to cut losses quickly i accept thats my big mistake thats why i am down more $2000 in 3-5 trades.I promised myself to cut losses quickly now onwards.
Your dad helps the program? You're like Wolf of Wall Street enlisting the aid of the equalizer! ;) Love it
rule nr 1 most of the times
Cut losses quickly and I start to testing cut losses intelligently too
Thank You Tim. I have learned a couple important lessons from my short journey. I need to follow the rules exactly or suffer the consequences. The amount of effort/studying is directly associated with my success or failure.
Thanks Tim
Cut losses quickly for now. Thanks Tim!!
cut losses quick because i have a small account.
Cut losses quickly
Cut losses quicky.
I honestly think that I would cut losses quickly since I'm still a newbie, but the reasoning behind doubling up is genius.
Cut losses quickly, Ingrained
cut losses quickly, cut losses quickly, get into the brain please!!
I cut losses quickly all the time, as I am still a newby trying to learn the rules. Better safe than sorry. Excellent lesson.
At this point cut losses quickly. I am sure I will be a little of both eventually.
If I see a clear support, I cut intelligently. If not so clear - cut quickly
cut losses quickly for now as i am in the learning period after some time if i feel it is the right strategy for me cut losses intelligently
With time and effort, I can do better.
cut losses quickly
Just 2 months into trading penny stocks, I will cut losses quickly. Thanks Tim
I cut losses quickly most of the time. I have added occasionally & results are hit & miss.
like to add, plus i tend to think in hold intelligently, am learning not so mart. looking for mid point
In the beginning while learning I will cut losses quickly, as I develop it will be cutting losses intelligently. Thanks Tim
for now i'll cut loss quickly
I'm new on this so following the rules seems a smart thing to do. I'll definitely try to cut losses intelligently after some (or plenty of) experience with the market. Thank you Tim.
still trying to find a median ground between the two. Getting more of a feel on where I have support and resistance and being extremely patient
For now I prefer cutting losses quickly
cut losses quickly, cautiously improve along the way.
I cut my losses quickly, but also intelligent.. Sometimes I let it go a little but I know most of the times its better to cut losses quick and eventually step in again when you are confident the table is turned..
I always cut losses quickly even if the stock may go up later.
I think I should focus on developing good habits. Eventually I'll have the instincts to know when to add as I get more screen time.
I am still new to this program but I would cut losses quickly and I hope I don't hold the bag. Thanks Tim.
I cut losses quickly, but size in too small so even my gains end up being fairly small. Been paper trading mostly
After losing big (in terms of %), I will definitely cut loss quick. Maybe once I have a big fund, I can risk 1% of my fund cutting loss intelligently.
it is a Mix.....
I will cut losses quickly until I have more experience. My ultimate goal is to be able to cut losses intelligently, but I am not there yet.
I'm somewhere in between right now.
Great lesson Thx Tim
cut losses quickly most of the time
Thank you Tim! Iâve tried both Iâll stick with what you suggest for now.
Mostly cut losses quickly but if I felt confident about the setup I might bend the rules a little. Thanks Tim.
none
Thanks Tim
Watched
Thank you Tim.
Watching And Analyzing!
right now cutting losses when my risk breaks
