Part-time trader here in a cubicle farm, studying everyday and aspiring to eventually go full-time. I place trades on E*Trade app with my cell phone, have a window open on Yahoo Finance to watch my ticker(s), and the S&P on my Apple watch to gauge overall market.

I'm part-time right now while I'm still in college. Hopefully when I graduate in December I can make the transition into being a full-time trader. I trade from my smart phone, computer, and tablet.

My wife will be full time at the end of the year. I will be full time after 2019. We want to be a jack of all trades with an amazing home setup and a multiple screen mobile setup in a backpack but ready and able to use the smart phones in a pinch if the perfect trade comes to us. So, I know at first this will be p/t but eventually I really want this f/t.. Prepared to study my ass off for that goal and I have my broker set up but currently I am only paper trading. I am extremely part time now but my youngest child will be going to college in the fall and "Syked" to become full time then.

20 years never used more than 1 laptop, but last 5 years use smart phone more than laptop....did fulltime for 1 year, but was tough with small portfolio where I had to generate $4k a month for bills off a $2k starting portfolio, so went back to work after 10 months, and have been part-time.since. Will do full-time again when timing right.

When it comes down to choosing if you should trade full time or part time it all comes down to your own personality and your own current situation. If you feel that this is truly something that you will do and can afford to not have a income sure go fulltime. If not go part time and use the hours of the day that you can find here and there to study. but either path you take studying is key for your success. Thanks Tim!

Im a full time trader and a beginner. I like the statement that you set up your schedule to protect yourself from yourself to prevent over trading. I have found over trading to be my problem.
