Do not worry, your account is not being locked. IB has a security system which prevents you to open your fourth trade if you have already made 3 day-trades. Because of that you cannot fall under PDT rule and you account cannot get locked. That said you (and me) need to be careful because we can let`s say 2 day-trades and than you enter into two new trades and in that case you can close one of them because if you would close both you would made 4 day-trades and acc would be locked. IB does not allow you to take an overnight 4th daytrade, once your out, you are out, where other borkers will let you take the 4th trade for overnight, IB does not. thank you Tim

Holding overnight can screw you even more. What if you start the day down .20 cent? Then you are taking a .20 cent loss even if you sell right away.

I only just thought about this, but with penny stocking silver I'm paying you approx $3.33 a day! Frikkin ridiculous if people can't accept paying that tiny amount, yet they want to make money probably by doing next to nothing!! I'd happily pay 10 times this! Nothing is more frustrating about trading a small account than having your funds withheld from you, whether" settling" for 3 days in a Cash Account or waiting 5 rolling days with just 3 trades under PDT rule in a Margin Account and having to watch great setups come and go! They waste a lot of good profit opportunities and delay your progress. Thanks Tim...I have a few trades I dread showing so won't be rushing until I have a few I am proud of as well : )...is that okay?

@timothysykes hey Tim, im a challenge student. you said that ZFGN was a good overnight long but werent you scared for bidder share holders from the previous spike to be trying to cut even ? and didnt you take in consideration that the stock was at mid range and not even close to the highs of its day ?

Spreadsheets are essential

Keep track of day trades and focus on the best setups. When you have a small account look for trades that are better for o/n so that you don't waste day trades.
