Thanks Tim to be such honest, rule #1
I appreciate the opportunity to learn from the positive and the negative.
appreciate you letting us learn from your mistakes which inturn makes us better. Thank you
Lost on VOXX too, not that glorious but at least I cut my losses quickly, since I can't afford any on a small account.
Awesome video pointing out double top pattern and what to do with position
100% transparency. Can't find this level of honesty anywhere on Wall Street. Thanks Tim!
great lesson and ty vm for sharing all your trades even the really bad ones. You're still the only one I ever see doing this. Props
Are you still holding some VOXX as a long term position? What's your price target?
Sorry you had to take a loss. But thank you for being transparent and using it to teach us.
We fed Monkeys. It was beautiful.
Tim, AS always thank you for spelling it out for us."FOLLOW THE RULES" You make it clear to us Follow the indicators and follow the rules and take profits..How much clearer can you make it. Although your trade was a loss. Its a huge win for all your subscribers of what not to do.I thank you for your mentor ship
Thanks for being open and honest about this trade. Great lesson.
Home run Tim! Excellent example of what can happen when you get emotionally involved with your trade. (#8 Tim's Top 15 Earnings Rules)
@timothysykes In learning from ur error 2day, was there a short sell option on this stock? Looked like from 10:30-12:00 Covering from $8.82 to $8.10 would have been a good play?
Learning from you is like watching a thriller, I never fall asleep...great gift thanks for sharing. Those nasty monkeys in ubut are like stocks, you never know what the heck they do next ;)
Didn't we just do this a few weeks back?
Great video, I think 10 minutes is the perfect lenght... oh and congrats on your engament and best wishes to you two
Tim I hope you don't get this the wrong way but sometimes I skip some of your videos when I'm on a tight schedule BUT I always make some time to watch your "How I lost.." ones, I found them really raw and informational and to be honest more relatable. Thank you sir !
@ViorelPop91 Do NOT "skip" any vid's. You never know when the slightest thing that Brother Tim says will be your "come to Jesus/AHA" moment." Save the emails and watch the vid's later when you have time.
@PeeOn you have a good point there brother
im not sure what to say, your supposed to be starting the new year out with a smaller account to really show us students how to build a small account to something larger.and your in bali with shitty wifi making shitty trades.been following you for a year now and i expected to see better from what ive heard in the past.your slacking bro
@hillbilly101 What Tim does is called TRANSPARENCY, we all know the stock market is risky, everybody have the right to make mistakes, sometimes we win and sometimes we learn, thanks to @timothysykes people like me can keep the hope and dreams alive, if it doesn't work for you just stop complaining and find a part time job where you can have a paycheck every week without risk. No pain no gain bro
@hillbilly101 I do not think your comment was disrespectful at all, your always going to get people on this chatt jumping to @timothysykes rescue, but he does not need them to! he is very well adversed in t
Thanks Tim, so much is valued and appreciated. I noticed in this video it seemed textbook for your description of "DOUBLE TOP" Page 109, Chapter 7(When the levees break), "An American Hedge Fund".. I am new to this industry and look forward to learning from everyone as well as hopefully delivering substance to peers. "Thank you, again" IF there is anything any addition that can be included to reference, it is always appreciated, peers, Tim or otherwise.BE Well
thanks for the review of rule#1. Toughest rule for me to follow.
I did the same but I am paper trading hehehehehe I am glad to learn the cheap way..thanks for this video
$10000 for some sleep and peace of mind...not bad for an average hotel stay:-)
Hey Tim, thanks for the lesson man. One question though: when you bought at 8.80ish with 50 cents reward what was your risk to the downside?
watched!
But they make for very good lessons tho!, we get to see what not to do and why & how you must cut losses quickly to protect because if you don't then you will open the door to a massive unnecessary loss, this example was a very poor r/r ratio it was in the negatives! the potential was .50 cents and the risk was around .70 cents a very bad ration thus why the trade went wrong to begin with, when you choose bad trades and you don't cut losses quickly you get bad results.
The best lessons we learn come from our biggest mistakes. Rule #1 matters.
This is exactly what I did recently, been in a mind tunnel for 2 weeks since.
you can not break rules and assume you will be fine... #1 rule never changes, cut losses quickly!
Always important to get into a trade with a plan and stick by it. The easiest way to blow up your account is to deviate from the plan and keeping adding to losers. If this was a short and it kept running this could have been a much bigger loss. $VOXX was a recent runner that left a bad taste in the mouth and has a good technology. However, never invest in these because of the product.
TY Tim
I just did this
great
watched and learning.

Thanks Tim
Swell
Lessons 2482,2483 from Bali(1/12/15) when you are wrong about price action , get out, CLQ, thanks Tim.

Video watched. Thx Tim.
Thanks Tim!!! I Appreciate These Lessons And Reminders!

Thanks Tim. When you buy a stock in the afternoon and expect a b/o and instead it makes a double top you should half your position or close it completely. No good odds for a gap up
