This trade would have gone wonderfully if I had paid attention to my Buy/Sell executions on SureTrader when I shorted on 11/27 (and actually intended to buy.) Caught the mistake on 12/2, tried to mitigate the per-share loss by shorting another 500 shares, and ended up losing $360 overall on the trade by the time I bought to cover. Broke Rule #1 - cut losses quickly. HUGE newbie mistake.

Ha! Good to know I'm not alone. The new layout has BUY - SELL - SHORT buttons in that order. And they're all different colors. It should help special people like me avoid those kinds of mistakes.
