Up 50+% yesterday, closed at highs, ran more AH and PM, went into RTH near PM highs so took a very small position, knew I was chasing but figured worth a short. Failed morning spike

Huge run-up yesterday with no catalyst, but low float/market cap with momentum. Trended upwards AH and PM. Tried to get entry where it was bottoming this morning at ~.66, executed at .68. Mini spike at the open with huge size on bid but couldn’t hold it or continue. Wasn’t going as far/fast as yesterday morning so got out for small gain. Feels good to finally have a green trade again

I had been watching the 5.65 level all day , it was the high of a big spike back in mid july. After a big gap up after earnings AH yesterday it trended downward all day but held that 5.65 level until about 2pm, made a new day low at 5.50, bought at .65 later figuring my risk was .50 and this pattern usually has a late day ramp up. It didn’t. Got out when it dipped below the day low

Dip bought this low (ish) float earnings winner around the AH high on 10.30 but was too slow and got executed at 10.37. Figured I would get out if it didn’t bounce right off 10.30 and back into the high 10s. Saw it drop below 10.30 and sold, executed at 10.22, small position small loss.

I feel like with all these failed morning spikers today traders just flock to stocks that have worked in the past. OPTT spiked and showed up on eveyones radar, broke out above yesterdays highs in the high 9.80s. This stock has run like crazy in the past for no reason and squeezed shorts so tried to buy another b/o at 9.90-10. Figured if it couldn’t break 10 convincingly then I would get out around yesterdays and todays highs at in the 9.80s. ended up going up the 10.30s

Up AH and PM on earnings, resisted the urge to buy PM because it didn’t look strong going into the open, tried to dip buy but I think I was a little late and chased as the dip really bottomed at 3.65, got in at 3.80 hoping it would head back up given just 10min ago it was above 4 and it’s a low float with positive news. Dip buy didn’t pan out and cut losses around the days bottom (at that time) of 3.65 didn’t get executed until 3.62

TRXC was up AH and PM due to news of selling their first robotic surgical system. Delayed morning spike after market open. Tried to buy the breakout of the days high at 1.90 but it couldnt hold. Sold quickly when i realized it wouldnt breakout

TOPS was up on earnings the previous day, previous morning spiker, so tried to piggyback the run into market open as i did in my previous trade. I figured my risk to be 7.60 because it held that level since 9am. Failed morning spike this time and I wasnt fast enough to sell into the small spike. cut losses around my risk level

Good volume and %gain premarket, tried to play the breakout, risk was premarket low at 2.35ish, goal was to sell into the AM spike at ~1$/share. in hindsight it was nerveracking to buy and hold during those 20min of premarket but I was afraid of not getting executed once it started spiking. My first trade, small position but excited nonetheless
