1.) “pre-clinical” = not huge news. 2.) if you’re shorting in pre-market, you probably want to cover in pre-market. Big volume comes in at market open and big spikes are quite possible. 3.) think of every PR (press release) as a lie. 4.) always know your max dollar loss risk on every trade. this is the price you pay for the opportunity to be in the trade. 5.) approval at phase 3 and above are legit, so don’t short those.
6.) a liquidity shortage is more so for the day after a big strong green day and much lighter relative volume the next day, where all the shorts from the day before are stuck and paying more to bring buyers out to get out of the short.
