Took this as a swing. Small size because im weary about swing trading but want to learn it because I'm at work from start to finish of the trading day. Plus I've never tried an over the weekend swing. could have been up if I held until the end of the day but small loss but gaining experience.
weekend play
TS alert at end of day on Friday. Red Robin was an earnings winner. Good to hold over the weekend. Worked out. I couldn't watch it so I exited with a single.
Had to go to doctors so I used a trailing stop set at 2%. spread was too small and I got stopped out to soon. Stopped out at 5.48. Stock went all the way to 6.50 could have made instead of 240.00 had I given it more room. Plan trailing stops better !!!!!
Entry comments: Weekend play for earnings winner consolidated all day after a big PM spike and another at the open. Looking for a 10% gain.
Exit comments: This earnings winner should have some more action after the weekend. On Monday, I let it run since it is a relatively non-volatile. It finally started trending upward and I put a stop/tp on to ensure a win and because i had to leave the computer for a dr. visit. I kept moving my stop up as it rose and it dipped to catch my stop. After selling it kept climbing for another +15% gain.
Thought it would go down a bit more but spiked instead.
Entered near key level as it had been holding gains all day. Will swing o/n. Was looking weak so cut
