Why did I do this trade. I only had 40 shares and the broker fees were the bulk of the loss. I shouldn't have done a trade like this at all

This was pretty illiquid and I got caught short overnight after news of an unsolicited offer to buy the company. I was able to exit the next morning with a small gain before it surged back. Small win and essentially cutting losses after that news.
