So I keep violating the number 1 rule (cut losses quickly) because I am not quick enough sometimes to cut losses. Then I commence to holding on to the stock as sometimes they bounce back or even spike harder within a day or two. So I hold on, but since I am trading a smaller account (and a new trader), I find myself needing to clear out older stocks to take advantage of new opportunities.
