Hello everyone. This is my first blog post. I titled this post with a question mark. It's not day one as I have been doing some studying and watching videos over the last 2 months. I bought How to Make Millions end of February. After watching that and signing up on here I began reading books. I've now read 3 books on trading stocks and candlesticks. I've watch countless hours of youtube videos and i've spent just as many hours snooping around yahoo finance, the lion, finviz, stock master app on my iPhone, etc.
Well last week I really started paying close attention to stocks on my phone while I was at work to see if I could find stocks worth trading. I found a couple, did some hindsight trading (I would enter here, exit here etc) and then realized it had a virtual trading option. I jumped in on one virtual trade and made $350 and I was hooked. I went home that night and began my application to open a brokerage account and signed up for STT.
Last couple days while waiting for the account to get set up and fund, i've been playing around on STT. Looking for stocks to play on my own and see how it compares to what others are finding and trading. I'm finding some of the same ones which makes me feel good.
Well I made a watchlist last night in preparation for "the big day" my first real trade. I came down stairs at 5:30AM Pacific time. Made myself some breakfast, reset the computer, opened up STT and brokerage software and began my premarket scanning. 6:30am Pacfic hit and I felt lost and overwhelmed thinking I might be jumping the gun. I just kept telling myself "Cut losses quickly".
Now I only had from 6:30am to 7:15 am before I had to leave to head to work. So I was hoping to find something. I know, I know, you can't force a trade. I wasn't. I was hunting. I was searching for my "Sniper" opportunity. Well at 7:12am Pacific, I thought I saw something to keep an eye on. I planned a trade for MTBC to jump in @ 1.60 and exit @ 1.45 should it keep rising. It kept rising and @ 7:19 I jumped over to my brokerage account to pop my cherry. I set up my trade info and clicked submit. A window popped up saying something about live trading, then another to confirm the details, my mouse hovered over the confirm as I glanced down at the clock. It was passed 7:15. I had to go to work. I didn't want to get stuck in a trade and glued to my computer. I cancelled the trade.
I got ready and left for work. As I was driving to work I pulled up the stock master app and saw that it was climbing.
So my cherry wasn't popped. I missed out on a great trade that I think I would've been profitable, but it shows I have discipline so I'll take that. My cherry popping will have to wait for another day.
