RIGL- Gapped up premarket and crashed 100% of the move to a good dip buy for today. (By the way, technical retracements of 100% are good buys nearly 90% of the time. Tim uses that strategy on Earnings Winners all the time.) Closed decently above yesterday's close. 2.97 is a key resistance level on the 1Y1D chart that couldn't flip and become support today but being long biased, I can see it happening tomorrow. $3 looks like a good buy with a two day swing to a 30-40 cent gain. Up on FDA approval and near some past highs. Chart isn't too ugly. 113M Float. 4% shares short so not looking for a squeeze. Recent uptrend to break the 20SMA just to guage the trend.
ZN- Crazy short squeeze from 2.05-3.95 today. Sad I missed it. 48M share Float. 0.06% shares short now. News of their drilling reaching a casing point. Closed up at 2.75 which is a pretty strong gain, but it's mid range. I would only buy this if it broke the 20SMA on some buying volume to signal a run to today's highs, or if it ran up to 3.40 which is now a key level. I'd aim for 20 cents per share if I took a position.
TRXC- Closed near highs. Has a nice 20 cent window from 68 cents to 88 cents and then a bigger window if it can grind up even higher. Surgical robotics company. Very speculative trade. I'd have to sit an watch it like a hawk with L2 Time and Sales, and my chart the entire time I had a position. I'd aim to make 20% on this play if I could get a low risk entry.
WPRT- Very strong uptrend since march. Every time it hit the 20SMA it bounced even higher, and recently broke out at 1.78, up to 2.24 on multiple green days and held at 2.22. And just when I thought it was too good to be true, it was an oil play, BUT it is up on earnings. Any retracements to the downside that coincide with support are potential buys for me. Strong chart, strong catalyst. 74M Float, 14.5% short. I would be comfortable riding this one for 15-30 cents before cutting my gains.
These are just a few I decided to look into while I had some free time. I'm looking for swing trades that can work with my schedule and it's pretty diffficult when I work all hours of the stock market operalting heavy lifts and crap.
ZN/WPRT I'm really happy with how my plays turned out. Two winners from my watch.
TRXC- Consolidating near it's highs, waiting on that 70 cent multi day breakout. VERY Speculative. Happy with this call.
RIGL- Closed down on the day. History of big multi week runs after breaking the 20SMA, so I expect this to be a slow mover. FDA news isn't super potent as a catalyst anyways. I'll keep a look out for this one, but not too closely. 25 cents below my perfect breakout point, wrong sector. Stays on my radar as a potential multi day breakout.
